Preparing for Door Installation Day
Getting new interior doors is exciting! Here's how to prepare for a smooth installation process.
Before Installation Day
1. Clear the Work Area
- Remove furniture and decorations near doorways
- Take down any wall art close to the installation area
- Clear a path from the entrance to work areas
2. Protect Your Floors
- While our team uses drop cloths, you may want to add extra protection
- Remove loose rugs that could be trip hazards
3. Secure Pets
- Keep pets in a separate area away from the installation
- Consider having them stay elsewhere if they're easily stressed
4. Inform Family Members
- Let everyone know about the installation schedule
- Plan for temporary inconvenience (some doors may be removed for a few hours)
During Installation
What to Expect:
- Installation typically takes 2-4 hours per door
- Some dust and noise is normal
- Our team will protect your floors and clean up afterward
Your Role:
- Be available for questions
- Keep children and pets away from the work area
- Feel free to ask questions about the process
After Installation
Immediate Care:
- Avoid painting or staining for 24-48 hours
- Test each door multiple times
- Report any concerns immediately
Long-term Maintenance:
- Clean with a soft, damp cloth
- Lubricate hinges annually
- Check for any adjustments needed seasonally
